The Order of the Friendly Sons of the Shillelagh–Essex Division is an Irish-American cultural and social organization who work to preserve our Irish traditions and heritage and to share them with the community at large.

If you haven’t had the opportunity to visit our Club or to attend one of our numerous charitable, cultural, or community events, we would love to welcome you to visit the Shillelagh Pub, our bar and kitchen which are open to the public. We host live entertainment every Friday and Saturday night, featuring terrific local and regional acts. We also have great food (especially our burgers), craft beer, an extensive whiskey list, and we undoubtedly pour the best pint of Guinness on this side of the Atlantic. Come on by and say, “Hello!”

Fun & Live Music at the Shillelagh

The Poor Man’s Opera this Fri. June 10 @ 8pm (no cover charge)

The Poor Man’s Opera is a Rock ‘n’ Roll band based in northern New Jersey, where they’ve been playing every bucket o’ blood saloon, juke joint and roadhouse for the past few years. “Barstool Confessional” is the first full-length collection of their original material, featuring compositions by the group’s lead singer/songwriter Mark Moran (who also happens to be the publisher of Weird N.J. magazine). The band draws most of its musical influences from traditional American country and folk-rock inspirations.

Two Guys on Sat June 4 @ 8pm (no cover charge)

The Shillelagh Club welcomes back Two Guys to play for your musical entertainment from 8 til 10:30. Ain’t no telling what you might hear at a Two Guys show. When pianist Ed Alstrom isn’t playing organ at Yankee Stadium and Smithereens’ drummer Dennis Diken is off the road these fellas can think of nothing that gives them greater pleasure than holing up in some gin mill to sing and swing their favorite musical gems from the 50s-70s. It’s like a discount department store full of musical gems. Come join the fun!

Mike Brocado

Mike Brocato is a veteran of the New York/New Jersey music scene, entertaining and fronting bands for over 35 years, with a playing style influenced by the likes of Jeff Beck, Rory Gallagher, Jimi Hendrix, Johnny Winter, and the endless list of blues players from the 1950’s.

Please note that we will be closed on Monday in observance of Memorial Day.
